ULTIMATE CHRISTMAS TREE STORAGE SOLUTION!!!... Hiding 12 Foot Tall Doors!
In this video we take a look at a recently completed project. This is a lake house where a family will fly in for the holidays. Out task was to create a storage solution for a very large Christmas tree which will be used in this massive great room. I installed double 12' tall doors and concealed the doors in this millwork detail. The project turned out great. I share some of my strategy and techniques in the video.

    The house im at is insane never seen it so bad the windows are off 3/4 sills build already by someone else doors are way messed up 1/2 out on 1 side 1/2 in on the other like great new job to start they are cutting like 46 degree cuts with compound cuts flaring from hell never had problems doing just straight 45s really 1 time we would put like a 1 degree compound cut on the door trim cause it was a tad big ive been watching videos and haven't seen anything like they do at this new job I got 😂 not to good at finishing work but we built whole houses and did trim never had these insane problems

    The problem with what you do is that the offset for a circular saw (dewalt) is 30 mm plus the depth of the blade.. Suppose it's OK if you want a gap so big under the door.. Track saw can be used without the track with less than 10 mm offset.

    For a beam like that I wouldn't worry about it being level from one gable wall to the other, if there's two inches I nthe difference then you'll see that from the ground, you're better off keeping them as parallel as possible off the roof and scribing less material off.

    I usually use 1 x 12 primed for my skirts and when necessary to splice I BEVEL my splices in case of any imperfections in the sheetrock installation or mudding to eliminate any potential unevenness. And I feel it’s a better look in case of any future expansion & contraction… your thoughts on this?

    What is your opinion of the Makita miter saw? You can adjust the bevel from a knob in the front of the saw rather than reaching around to the back of the saw.
